Welcome back, Adventurers!
We’re so excited for DUDAD to be here again and we appreciate everyone who came out last night!
Just a couple of quick things to know:
- One Shot Days are back! The first OSD is Saturday, January 19th, 2019! Be there for a chill time of pickup games and studying with buddies! Sign up here if you’re interested in giving DMing a whirl!
- The Player’s Guild is back! Share your accomplishments with the entire DUDAD fam! Shoot us an email and we’ll get your stuff up starting next week.
- Remember to pay dues! You can either give $5 cash to Bones or Venmo $5.50 to @dudad. The name that’ll come up on Venmo is HR Bumgarner, that’s normal. Get this done as soon as possible. If you haven’t paid dues by week 3, you won’t be able to continue playing. And that would be sad, please don’t let that happen.
- You’re back! We love you. We’re so excited for this quarter!

Goodbye, Fall Quarter!
Another fantastic quarter for DUDAD in the books! We were so happy to have everyone who joined us for Fall Quarter 2018! This quarter has been a fantastic time, from naming pirate skeletons after the exec board, to tricking the mayor into thinking his town hasn’t been pillaged, to pineapple pies!
We hope you survive finals and have a wonderful (and restful) winter break! Gotta save up your energy, our first meeting of Winter Quarter 2019 will be Friday, January 11th, 2019. Can’t wait to see you there!

General House Innkeeping
Bones and Tabris are hosting DM workshops today (Oct 13th) in ECS 200 at 2pm. Come by if you wanna learn some tips and tricks from seasoned DUDAD DMs!
Special shoutout to all our players who have been doing an awesome job of keeping the rooms clean and orderly! Reminder to not throw anything that can rot over the weekend in the classroom trash receptacles–please dispose of these things in the trash cans outside. Thanks!
If you haven’t paid your dues already, please take care of that as soon as possible! We at the Exec Team want to get rid of dues entirely (trust us, we have to pay them too), but unfortunately we can’t. Please Venmo $5.50 to @dudad or give $5 to Bones. Not sure where he’s at? Message us on Facebook.
Unfortunately we cannot order at this time because we haven’t gotten enough interest on our T-shirt form to breakeven. We really apologize for this! We will likely be ordering shirts again in the Spring, so stay tuned!
We unfortunately cannot guarantee general snacks for the club on a weekly basis. Huge shoutout to Chyna for bringing incredible baked goods to share on Friday!! That was greatly appreciated and they were fantastic!
The only way to guarantee your group gets snacks is if your DM sends in a request with attendance, so be sure to remind them to do that! Also, heads up: you can request boxes of soda for snacks!

We may still have half of fall quarter left and winter break coming up, but that doesn’t mean we’re not prepping for Winter Quarter 2019!
Campaign Sign-ups
Campaign sign-ups are open! Please be sure to read through all the info carefully. We made changes to the form to hopefully make it a little easier and more robust as a DM sign-up experience.
We got feedback that there was a bit of a glitch on the form. We apologize for that and have fixed the problem! Google Forms are tricky sometimes. Thank you to those of you who pointed that out to us, we appreciate it!
On the Fence?
Not sure if you want to DM? That’s okay! We’ve added a portion to the form to express how badly you want to DM. If you’d rather be a player but you’re down to be a backup DM, that’s an option too! We want to give y’all flexibility and we appreciate your participation!
Are you going to be a player?
We sort people into campaigns through a lottery system. Our goal as a club is to be an outlet for people to get to know other DUDADers and hopefully make lasting friendships.
There are usually a wide variety of DMs and games to choose from. We urge you to branch out as much as you can! Also, if you don’t get your first, second, or even third pick, don’t fret! Our lottery system allots “points” to people who seem to get the short end of the stick. Then, next quarter, your points give you a higher chance of getting into a desired campaign. It’s all done through Excel, so it truly is up to the fates. And Microsoft Office, I guess.
One-Shot Day!
The next OSD is Saturday, October 20th from 2-6pm in Sharon’s Alcove! These are chill, smaller, tight-knit hangout sessions where you can play DND with new people, get homework done in Ye Olde Homework Zone, and generally fulfill your social need. They’re cozy and a good time!

Don’t Split the Party!
We’re a massive club and we get out after dark. We started the DSTP program so that we can be sure you all get home safely! DMs should coordinate which players go where. If you can’t find your DM or they haven’t done DSTP, find a board member! We’re always the last to leave and we want you to feel safe.

The Census
OSD #1!!
The first One-Shot Day is here! We’ll be running OSD in Sharon’s Alcove from 2-6pm, and we can’t wait!
We only had a couple of DMs sign up so we’re welcoming any and all pop-up DMs of any and all skill levels! This is a great, chill way to practice your mad DM skillz.
OSD is also a great way to get to know other DUDADers outside of the formal meeting. Make new friends! Hang out! Run a lazers and feelings sesh! It’s gonna be a good time. Don’t forget to bring your own snacks.
Club Supplies
We have supplies to rent out! Player handbooks, battlegrids, dice, and more! To check out supplies, visit Jordyn Merritt in Sharon’s Alcove, find her in one of the middle huddle spots.
USG
There used to be a not-so-nice, anti-USG rhetoric in DUDAD. The exec board does not support this and just wants to remind our players that USG have helped us in more ways than we can tell. A lot of problems lie in the DU Administration overall, but the blame gets pushed onto USG, who are students just like us. We encourage you to keep that in mind and to be kind. And vote! It matters, and if all 100+ of us vote, we make a massive impact on this campus!
Dues
We don’t want to have to charge dues, but we need to keep the club afloat. If you haven’t yet, hand $5 cash to Bones. On Fridays, he can be found in room 201. He’s also going to be at One-Shot Day this afternoon, and you can turn them in there as well!
We understand cash can get a little weird. If that’s the case, send $5.50 to @dudad on Venmo (the name that’ll come up is Hannah Renea Bumgarner. That’s HR!) We only charge the extra 50 cents because withdrawing that money comes with fees. Thank you for your understanding!
T-Shirts
We’ve only had 5 interest responses for t-shirts so far, which is unfortunately not enough for us to order and breakeven. If you’ve already filled out the form and really, really want a t-shirt, remind your friends to!
If you already have a shirt, why not give it a friend? Mountain of t-shirts. All for you. Hoard them like a dragon. Just picture it.
