Likelihood of Running

Some of our DMs are serving as backups. We’ve included them on this list in case you really, really want to play with them, but be sure to keep this in mind! We recommend taking a look to see if GM’s are running for sure, or if they’re serving as a backup and choosing campaigns accordingly. We cannot guarantee our backups will run.

The ranking system of likeliness is as follows:

  1. I plan to be a DM this quarter
  2. I’d rather be a DM but I would be fine playing if necessary
  3. I’m fine either way
  4. I’d rather be a player but I could DM if necessary*
  5. Last resort: if the world ends and every other DM is obliterated, I could DM*

*NOTE: 4’s and 5’s are not posted on the website as they are super heckin’ backups. We only post them if we’re really in a pinch.

Game System, Edition, & Stats

Here you’ll find all the logistic info to consider how badly you want to join the campaign.

First, there’s the game system, meaning which tabletop role-playing game (TTRPG) the GM is going to run. Many of our GMs run traditional Dungeons & Dragons (D&D), though some run other fun things as well!
Just below that, you’ll see what edition of the game system they’ll be running. Not all TTRPGs have multiple editions, but some of them do. This is important because some of the core mechanics (rules) can change from edition to edition. For example, D&D has been in existence since 1974 and has changed dramatically since then. The most recent edition, 5.5e, was published in 2024.

Below that, you’ll see if this is a brand new campaign, or what’s known as a continuing campaign. Sometimes, GMs start a campaign that will last longer than the nine sessions we have in a quarter. They will list their campaign as “continuing” to indicate if they are running the same campaign that they ran last quarter.
You can still join a continuing campaign even if you weren’t in it while it previously ran. Continuing players have priority for open spots, but if someone leaves or the GM otherwise has open spots, you might be able to join!

Silliness Index is an important stat to DUDAD. Some GMs like to run goofy games that are chock-full of memes and jokes and silly times. Some GMs like a more serious campaign that tells a grounded, narrative structure. The scale is from 1 to 5, with 1 being a very serious, grounded campaign and 5 being an overall goof-fest.

The scale of the campaign indicates how high the stakes are, which is also on a range of 1 to 5. Do you like tight-knit stories where your character is solving a small mystery, or would you rather have the fate of the multiverse in your hands? Smaller-scaled campaigns (1) will have those small, focused stories, while larger-scaled campaigns (5) will have much more epic proportions.

Rule adherence is how strictly the GMs plan to stick to their system’s rules. 1 means there’s a lot of flexibility, 5 means this campaign is to the book.

Commitment level indicates how committed the GM expects players to be. A 1 is a low level of commitment, so your GM would probably be chill if you had to miss a few meetings. A 5 is a high level of commitment, which means you will most likely be expected be fully engaged and at every meeting during the quarter.

Features give players an idea of what the GMs play-style is like. Like a lot of combat where death is around the corner? There are characteristics for that. Do you enjoy more role-playing? That exists too.

Campaign Description

This is one of the most important things you’ll find on this page. The description is what the GM has written to let you know what kind of adventure you’ll be going on. If you have a favorite setting (e.g. pirates or space-themed) or you wanna know what your party will be up against, this is where to find that. Be sure to keep in mind the stats above too! If you’re not into zombies usually but you see all their stats are your style, you might be surprised at what a fun time you can have!

Notes

We try to tailor our GM sign-ups to have all the information a GM might need, but occasionally we leave out certain details or the GM has something game-specific they want you, the players, to know. Not every GM will provide notes for their campaign, which is okay. That usually means all the info you need is above! The notes section can have helpful information about the campaign!

If anything doesn’t make sense or is generally gobble-dee-gook, don’t hesitate to reach out to us and let us know! We try to make the sign up experience as easy as we can.

Happy Adventuring!

The Technocracy of Suns has become a figurehead for the rule of the known universe and the Company has it’s control over all. Within the vastness of the known universe, it’s not difficult to stumble upon depravity, crime, or certain death. You have escaped this by working on a research station, Campe Station, on the edges of what is considered ‘civilization.’ The station is in charge of researching Dycristenum, an element that can aid in elemental transmutation. Though, a team that just went to the surface of the dead planet below has come back nigh-decimated, and your coworkers have started to take sick days. The planet below doesn’t seem so ‘dead’ anymore. You and your crew will explore the vast known universe to try to uncover what’s going on, or to run from the horrific truth.

Teodora’s Notes

Warning! This setting is extremely Horror, with strong elements of Body Horror. I am not kidding when I say this will be full of graphic descriptions of gore. Alternately, This will be a heavy science setting, where exploration and investigation are necessary, but the universe is quite literally open-world and you can go ANYWHERE.

Fitz & Liam’s Campaign Description

Wreathed in an eternal night and climbing the sides of a valley, Vidame is a city that should not exist. Its people have long forgotten the pains of hunger and squalor, but in the void left by material need came a reverence for one thing above all, reputation. The Names of, Joy, Justice, and Communion founded Vidame as a haven for social merriment, filling its streets with mansions and its people’s pockets with gold, so that they may share in each other’s company amid balls and galas. Since their disappearance, however, the revelry they began took over city life, and one’s esteem became the difference between life and death. You, a member or close friend of the Oleñezze family, have received summons to the city where you learn your new task. Restore the family name, rebuild its reputation.

Fitz & Liam’s Notes

This campaign takes place in both a custom setting and system. The system, Name and Fate, is a d10 system with flexible buildcraft and a lightweight, creativity-first out of combat presence. Within combat, you may augment your character’s abilities by invoking Names, the myriad Gods of this world, gaining access to unique abilities at the cost of your own wellbeing. Combat will be somewhat infrequent in this campaign, but present enough that it will be good to know if the system interests you before signing on.

More about the system can be found in this rules digest.

Each year, citizens coming of age are entered into the Frontier Draft, a state lottery selecting those sent beyond Halen’s borders to patrol the wilds, recover pre-war artifacts, repel invaders, and establish trade with distant settlements. In truth, the Draft also serves as population control, sending thousands into deadly ruins and lawless territories few return from.

1893 (Colorado)
“Starting the interview, you may now speak freely”

It is hard to imagine a place beyond this world… for it is religion that manifested my destiny.” (He clutches his cross, swaying.)

“I would like to think what I saw was merely an illusion, perhaps a mirage. My daughter died young of a bad cough that never left her. (Suddenly his eyes meet yours)

You keep saying there’s something wrong with my head, that perhaps certain medication would help.”

“Why don’t you ask Sheriff Princeton? He’ll testify to it. He’s in the other room.”
(Slams desk)

“Because he heard it too. He was there with me that morning. There is something wrong with Stillwater, and I can only pray that God will protect us.

Think Red Dead Redemption + Monsters + Paranormal + Investigation!

(Rated R) 🙂

Eli’s Notes

No, there will be a variety of freedom and choices. Players can choose many occupations and PVP will be inevitable but strongly dependent and at times avoidable depending on choices. 🙂

Jamie’s Campaign : “The Broken Chains”

Likelihood of Running

I plan to be a DM this quarter.

Game System, Edition, & Stats

Dungeons and Dragons 5.5e (2024)

Game Details

Silliness Index: 1
Scale: 5
Rule Adherence: 4
Commitment Level: 4
Expected Duration: Fall 2026, Winter 2027, Spring 2027

Features

  • Plot-Focused
  • Combat-Heavy
  • Roleplay-Heavy
  • Medium Mortality-Rate
  • Eldritch Horror
  • Apocalypse

Jamie’s Campaign Description

The gods are dying. The realms have been plunged into chaos as beings long thought unkillable are obliterated and primordial beings long since dormant rise. The Spellplague, thought to be eradicated over 100 years ago, is back, and beings are dying off en masse from unknown causes. You’ve answered a listing from the House of the All-Seeing Orb by the High Priest of Savras. They’ve attached part of their prophecy to the listing:
“When the stars shudder and the veil thins, the ancient balance shall rupture. A force neither born of fate nor bound by destiny will awaken. Darkness will stretch where none should fall, and the earth itself will cower. From willing hands, ruin shall rise.”

Jamie’s Notes

This campaign includes a good mix of both combat and roleplay. Your characters will also have plenty of downtime.
This campaign starts at low levels but levels up fast! I will be using homebrew mechanics and features, but nothing that should affect how character creation is done.
This will be a multi-quarter campaign, so please only sign up if you can make the commitment of a full three quarters.

Holden’s Campaign : “Contagion”

Holden’s Campaign Description

Welcome to Saint Katherine’s Hospital, located in the quiet town of Redding, Maine, beside the Fort Cain military base. The hospital has served the community for over 50 years. Recently, however, it was quarantined due to an unknown “illness.” Under no circumstances can this illness be allowed to spread, so the military has sealed off the area, ensuring that no one gets in or out. That is the official story. The real story is told only by the survivors. They speak of hospital staff and patients fusing together, twisting into bloated, inhuman creatures. According to the reports, the staff tried to investigate and contain whatever was happening inside the hospital, but no one knows the outcome. Did they stop the spread, or were they consumed by it?

Fabula Ultima

Game Details

Silliness Index: 3
Scale: 4

Features

  • Character-Driven

  • Medium Difficulty
  • Open World
  • Emotional
  • Lore Heavy

Hazel’s Campaign Description

This is your world. Your story. The only thing that matters is what your actions are, and the consequences that they bring.

Fabula Ultima is a system in which you as players develop the world alongside your GM (me! hello!), creating an experienced tailored to you and your fellow players tastes. I intend for this to be a very JRPG inspired campaign (Final Fantasy, Trails, NieR, Xeno) that will take place over three quarters, so plan to commit! We’ll make the world together, and I, as your GM, will do the absolute best that I can with it.

Hazel’s Notes

Do note that I will be an alum next quarter, so if you’re not comfy with having one for a GM, that’s totally okay!
