Likelihood of Running
Some of our DMs are serving as backups. We’ve included them on this list in case you really, really want to play with them, but be sure to keep this in mind! We recommend selecting mostly campaigns that are guaranteed to run next quarter to ensure you don’t have complications getting into a campaign. We cannot guarantee our backups will run.
The ranking system of likeliness is as follows:
- I plan to be a DM this quarter
- I’d rather be a DM but I would be fine playing if necessary
- I’m fine either way
- I’d rather be a player but I could DM if necessary*
- Last resort: if the world ends and every other DM is obliterated, I could DM*
*NOTE: 4’s and 5’s are not posted on the website as they are super heckin’ backups. We only post them if we’re really in a pinch.
Game System, Edition, & Stats
Here you’ll find all the logistic info to consider how badly you want to join the campaign.
First, there’s the game system, meaning which tabletop role-playing game (RPG) the DM is going to run. Most of our DMs run traditional Dungeons & Dragons (D&D), though some run other fun things as well!
Just below that, you’ll see what edition of the game system they’ll be running. Not all tabletop RPGs have multiple editions, but some of them do. This is important because some of the core mechanics (rules) can change from edition to edition. For example, D&D has been in existence since 1974 and has changed dramatically since then. The most recent edition, 5th edition, was published in 2014.
Below that, you’ll see if this is a brand new campaign, or what’s known as a continuing campaign. Sometimes, DMs start a campaign that will last longer than the nine sessions we have in a quarter. They will list their campaign as “continuing” to indicate if they are running the same campaign that they ran last quarter.
You can still join a continuing campaign even if you weren’t in it while it previously ran. Continuing players have priority for open spots, but if someone leaves or the DM otherwise has open spots, you might be able to join!
Silliness Index is an important stat to DUDAD. Some DMs like to run goofy games that are chock-full of memes and jokes and silly times. Some DMs like a more serious campaign that tells a grounded, narrative structure. The scale is from 1 to 5, with 1 being a very serious, grounded campaign and 5 being an overall goof-fest.
The scale of the campaign indicates how high the stakes are, which is also on a range of 1 to 5. Do you like tight-knit stories where your character is solving a small mystery, or would you rather have the fate of the multiverse in your hands? Smaller-scaled campaigns (1) will have those small, focused stories, while larger-scaled campaigns (5) will have much more epic proportions.
Rule adherence is how strictly the DMs plan to stick to their system’s rules. 1 means there’s a lot of flexibility, 5 means this campaign is to the book.
Commitment level indicates how committed the DM expects players to be. A 1 is a low level of commitment, so your DM would probably be chill if you had to miss a few meetings. A 5 is a high level of commitment, which means you will most likely be expected be fully engaged and at every meeting during the quarter.
Features give players an idea of what the DMs play-style is like. Like a lot of combat where death is around the corner? There are characteristics for that. Do you enjoy more role-playing? That exists too.
Campaign Description
This is one of the most important things you’ll find on this page. The description is what the DM has written to let you know what kind of adventure you’ll be going on. If you have a favorite setting (e.g. pirates or space-themed) or you wanna know what your party will be up against, this is where to find that. Be sure to keep in mind the stats above too! If you’re not into zombies usually but you see all their stats are your style, you might be surprised at what a fun time you can have!
Notes
We try to tailor our DM sign-ups to have all the information a DM might need, but occasionally we leave out certain details or the DM has something game-specific they want you, the players, to know. Not every DM will provide notes for their campaign, which is okay. That usually means all the info you need is above! The notes section can have helpful information about the campaign!
If anything doesn’t make sense or is generally gobble-dee-gook, don’t hesitate to reach out to us and let us know! We try to make the sign up experience as easy as we can.
Happy Adventuring!

Abran’s Campaign Description
On the glittering surface of a freshwater ocean world, a peaceful nation scattered across constellations of bucolic islands welcomes tired Cosmopolitans from across the galaxy to their new home. Cosmopolitans often choose to end their lives in this tropical paradise; every day, new arrivals land at the lone spaceport and embark on slow sailboats, traveling across the shallow oceans to nameless islands where they can live in quiet peace among tight-knit communities. All was well until a shadow fell over the world: corpro-state privateer ships, hungry for freshwater to resupply their empty holds, have started draining the ocean. The elderly Cosmopolitans who have retired here can’t fight the privateers on their own, but someone knows a small band of adventurers they can call for help…
Abran’s Notes
Characters will be starting at level 0 with a background that can be a single line or 5 pages, your choice. I will try and work in any and all background stuff in. Any official expansion allowed.

- Plot-Focused
- Character-Driven

Colin’s Campaign Description
Prohibition isn’t the only thing that makes the streets of 1920’s Chicago dangerous, and some things that haunt the dark are out for worse than blood. In this campaign players will find, fight, and most importantly flee eldritch horrors from outside this reality, exploring the dark underbelly of a rotten city. Campaign will run off of Call of Cthulhu system with some tweaks for an emphasis on role playing. Focus will be on Lovecraftian Horror.
Colin’s Notes
Setting is 1920’s Chicago, players are human. Focus will be on Role Playing, with some combat but more of an emphasis on discovery and investigation. Character backgrounds will be important, happy to do one-on-one’s if players want information on setting and mythos. PVP is on the board, but likely no PVP-related deaths.
Fair Warning: Campaign is horror focused, will be gory at some points. Call of Cthulhu also has core mechanics centered around mental illness (will be tweaking these for gameplay, but will still be very present)- so fair warning.

Dungeons and Dragon’s 5th Edition
Game Details:
Silliness Index: 4
Scale: 4
Rule Adherence: 3
Commitment Level: 3
Expected Duration: Winter Quarter and Spring Quarter
Features
- World-Focused
- Plot-Focused
- Character-Driven
- Combat-Light

James’s Campaign Description
Do you enjoy spending your Friday nights contemplating questions of existence, death, the afterlife, the true meaning of eternity, and doing a silly voice? No? Too bad. Sign up anyway.
James’s Notes
PVP discouraged unless it’s REALLY cool. Evil alignments must be doofenshmirtz evil, not EVIL evil. Campaign starts in fantasy 1920s and goes back in time, consider what time period your character is from!

Blades in the Dark
Game Details:
Silliness Index: 3
Scale: 2
Rule Adherence: 3
Commitment Level: 3
Expected Duration: Winter Quarter
Features
- World-Focused
- Character-Driven
- Combat-Light
- Roleplay-Heavy
- Medium Mortality-Rate
- High-Medium Difficulty
Jessica’s Campaign Description
Mysterious untraceable deaths ripple through the underground community of Duskvol, and rumors of a ghostly creature sweep the city and to make matters worse, your crew of criminals may be the monster’s next target. Duskvol is a city of permanent night since the Cataclysm, an event that destroyed the sun, turned the sea black, and opened the gates of the afterlife. The city is guarded from feral ghosts and other undead monstrosities by giant lightning barriers fueled by the blood of Leviathans.
Blades in the Dark has a different system than D&D that requires 6-sided dice and gives players more control over the outcome of their actions.
Jessica’s Notes
Blades in the Dark works best when you have a variety of different classes and strengths, and for this campaign, I strongly recommend at least one character be a Whisper. Players can’t start as a ghost, vampire, or hull due to power imbalance, but you are welcome to become one if your character dies. PVP is allowed in moderation.
Kai McManus
Likelihood of Running

Call of Cthulhu: 7th Edition
Game Details:
Silliness Index: 2
Scale: 4
Rule Adherence: 3
Commitment Level: 2
Expected Duration: Winter & Spring
Features
- Plot-Focused
- Combat-Light
- Roleplay-Heavy
- High/Medium Mortality-Rate
- Medium Difficulty
- Linear World
- Large focus on investigation and problem-solving
Kai’s Campaign Description
I will be running either Amidst the Ancient Trees:
“The Daughter of a local industrialist has been kidnapped. The ransom payoff went horribly wrong, ending in a gunfight. The kidnappers have escaped the scene with both the girl and the ransom money, and fled back into the forest. The investigators must rescue the girl, hunt the criminals down and bring them to justice. However, there is more to be discovered in the forest than anyone ever guessed…”
Otherwise, I will be running Horror on the Orient Express:
“Three identical men found dead in the same room of the Chelsea Arms Hotel. Each of them stabbed through the heart. The unexplained killings see the investigators embark on a thousand-mile journey on the legendary rail service to Constantinople—the Gateway of the Orient.”
Kai’s Notes
In Call of Cthulhu, characters do die, but much more often your character will go insane. The base game can be insensitive on issues of mental health in this way, but I try my best to be positive anyway. The campaigns are also set in the 1920’s and the characters are human.
Maddie Miller
Likelihood of Running

Game System, Edition, & Stats
Dungeons and Dragons: 5th Edition & Demigods and Deities Homebrew
Game Details:
Silliness Index: 4
Scale: 4

Commitment Level: 4
Expected Duration: Just Winter
Features
- Plot-Focused
- Character-Driven
- Combat-Medium
- Roleplay-Medium
- Low Mortality-Rate
- Open World
- Flexible
- Adaptive Plot
Maddie’s Campaign Description
Set in the world of Percy Jackson, chaos has once again engulfed Camp Half-Blood, and the rest of the demigod world. The Hunters of Artemis, in hot pursuit of the Teumessian Fox, have gone missing, and Artemis has tasked you (and your friends, of course) with finding them. If matters weren’t bad enough already, a rogue demigod has been causing chaos up in Boston… something about a hotel? Regardless, it’s up to your party to make your way to the hunters’ last known location in Seattle, find out what happened, and subdue the Teumessian Fox, a beast destined to never be captured. Capture the Flag, monster attacks, and a wine god having withdrawals stand in your way. Are you up for the challenge, half-blood?
Maddie’s Notes
Not every player has to be a Greek/Roman demigod! We’ll be pulling elements from The Kane Chronicles and Magnus Chase as well, so Norse demigods/einherji, elves and dwarves, and magicians following an Egyptian god are all on the table as well!
