Likelihood of Running
Some of our DMs are serving as backups. We’ve included them on this list in case you really, really want to play with them, but be sure to keep this in mind! We recommend selecting mostly campaigns that are guaranteed to run next quarter to ensure you don’t have complications getting into a campaign. We cannot guarantee our backups will run.
The ranking system of likeliness is as follows:
- I plan to be a DM this quarter
- I’d rather be a DM but I would be fine playing if necessary
- I’m fine either way
- I’d rather be a player but I could DM if necessary*
- Last resort: if the world ends and every other DM is obliterated, I could DM*
*NOTE: 4’s and 5’s are not posted on the website as they are super heckin’ backups. We only post them if we’re really in a pinch.
Online
NEW: Spring Quarter 2022 at DU will be in-person. This section will tell you whether or not the campaign will meet online. It will be listed under the Game System, Edition, & Stats section of the campaign descriptions.
If the online section says, “I’d like to GM in-person if we can, but online is okay!,” this campaign will run in-person unless it shifts back to online for the quarter.
If the online section says, “I’ll be GMing online!,” this campaign will run solely online.
Game System, Edition, & Stats
Here you’ll find all the logistic info to consider how badly you want to join the campaign.
First, there’s the game system, meaning which tabletop role-playing game (RPG) the DM is going to run. Most of our DMs run traditional Dungeons & Dragons (D&D), though some run other fun things as well!
Just below that, you’ll see what edition of the game system they’ll be running. Not all tabletop RPGs have multiple editions, but some of them do. This is important because some of the core mechanics (rules) can change from edition to edition. For example, D&D has been in existence since 1974 and has changed dramatically since then. The most recent edition, 5th edition, was published in 2014.
Below that, you’ll see if this is a brand new campaign, or what’s known as a continuing campaign. Sometimes, DMs start a campaign that will last longer than the nine sessions we have in a quarter. They will list their campaign as “continuing” to indicate if they are running the same campaign that they ran last quarter.
You can still join a continuing campaign even if you weren’t in it while it previously ran. Continuing players have priority for open spots, but if someone leaves or the DM otherwise has open spots, you might be able to join!
Silliness Index is an important stat to DUDAD. Some DMs like to run goofy games that are chock-full of memes and jokes and silly times. Some DMs like a more serious campaign that tells a grounded, narrative structure. The scale is from 1 to 5, with 1 being a very serious, grounded campaign and 5 being an overall goof-fest.
The scale of the campaign indicates how high the stakes are, which is also on a range of 1 to 5. Do you like tight-knit stories where your character is solving a small mystery, or would you rather have the fate of the multiverse in your hands? Smaller-scaled campaigns (1) will have those small, focused stories, while larger-scaled campaigns (5) will have much more epic proportions.
Rule adherence is how strictly the DMs plan to stick to their system’s rules. 1 means there’s a lot of flexibility, 5 means this campaign is to the book.
Commitment level indicates how committed the DM expects players to be. A 1 is a low level of commitment, so your DM would probably be chill if you had to miss a few meetings. A 5 is a high level of commitment, which means you will most likely be expected be fully engaged and at every meeting during the quarter.
Features give players an idea of what the DMs play-style is like. Like a lot of combat where death is around the corner? There are characteristics for that. Do you enjoy more role-playing? That exists too.
Campaign Description
This is one of the most important things you’ll find on this page. The description is what the DM has written to let you know what kind of adventure you’ll be going on. If you have a favorite setting (e.g. pirates or space-themed) or you wanna know what your party will be up against, this is where to find that. Be sure to keep in mind the stats above too! If you’re not into zombies usually but you see all their stats are your style, you might be surprised at what a fun time you can have!
Notes
We try to tailor our DM sign-ups to have all the information a DM might need, but occasionally we leave out certain details or the DM has something game-specific they want you, the players, to know. Not every DM will provide notes for their campaign, which is okay. That usually means all the info you need is above! The notes section can have helpful information about the campaign!
If anything doesn’t make sense or is generally gobble-dee-gook, don’t hesitate to reach out to us and let us know! We try to make the sign up experience as easy as we can.
Happy Adventuring!

Aidan’s Campaign Description
Korallis is a broken kingdom. Once the gem of the Sullen Sea, it is now nothing more than a backwater stopover on the way to greater lands. With the death of the cruel and calculating King only years ago, a power vacuum has created a system of warlords, gangs, and cultists vying for power on this vast and diverse island. It is up to you, great adventurers and explorers, to decide where your allegiances lie and who you can really trust in such a dangerous land. Adventure and riches lie before you, but at what cost? Korallis is a large island with countless unique threats and opportunities facing you. Those who dare to face these challenges and prove themselves a victor of Korallis must carry a sharp mind and an even sharper blade.
Aidan’s Notes
A mix of fantasy and contemporary themes mixed together in a fleshed out world. Expect a mix of well balanced combat and engaging role play. If you are going to play a dragonborn, please let me know beforehand. They are not banned, but your background may have to be altered slightly for plot purposes.

Brian’s Campaign Description
A new and deadly plague is tearing its way through Theros. Magic nor medicine can stop the spread or quell the effects of the illness. It is only a matter of time before the whole world has been taken ill.
That is until Pharika, Goddess of Affliction, quests you and your companions to find the cure, located in her laboratory in the Nessian Woods. Together, you will travel to the laboratory, attempt to put a stop to the virus, and save all of Theros.
Brian’s Notes
This campaign is based on the world of Theros from the Mythic Odyssey of Theros book. Only the races and classes appropriate to the setting will be allowed. That includes Centaurs, Humans, Leonin, Minotaurs, Triton, Satyrs, and Nyx-Born. If you have an idea that breaks the mold, let me know! I’m happy to work something out on an individual basis. Any questions are to be directed to me, Brian, also known as Niarb. I’m happy to clear up any confusion!

Commitment Level: 4
Expected Duration: 1 Quarter
Features
- World-Focused
- Plot-Focused
- Character-Driven
- Combat-Medium
- Roleplay-Heavy
- Medium Mortality-Rate
- Medium Difficulty
- Backstory-Integrated
Ashton’s Campaign Description
Welcome to Starlight City, a beautiful city that sits next to the giant Silver Meadow Forest and the snowy Mt. Gandover. In this world, Superpowers exist, and all of the five races (Humans, Shapeshifters, Fairies, Scraplets, and Psicons) have the potential to gain superpowers. Superheroes also exist in this world as both Licensed members of government services and as illegal Vigilantes. Minor uses of unlicensed power, like flying to work, are perfectly legal.
You are not a public hero; instead, you are a Vigilante. Recently, the beasts of the Silver Meadow Forest have become more aggressive and violent weather patterns have ravaged the city, straining the abilities of public services. Something is wrong, and you feel compelled to investigate.
I require a 1.5-page minimum backstory for your character and a power concept.
Ashton’s Notes
I require a 1.5-page minimum backstory and a flexible concept for your character’s powers before week 1. I will attempt to incorporate your backstories into the world and story, but the sooner you get them to me, the more I can add from them.
For the races: these are merely for world-building and are suggestions for ways you could take your characters/powers. Many Fairies are capable of using magic. Psicons are purple elves with psionic abilities, for example, Telekinesis. Scraplets are red goblins with a fascination for technology and tinkering. Humans and shapeshifters should be obvious.
In this world it is legal to use your powers for minor personal things, like flying to work, however, laws still apply. For minor infractions, flying over the speed limit, minor property damage, etc. individuals are subject to a fine and must register their power with the government. For worse infractions, accidents, unintentional harm, harassment, etc. individuals will be fitted with a power dampening bracelet for a time determined by a judge. And for serious crimes, individuals will be incarcerated. Non-lethal vigilantism is a serious infraction and has a minimum sentence of one year with a power damper. Lethal vigilantism is a crime and has a minimum sentence of five years in prison.
IMPORTANT: This game is starting at power level 6. For context, Batman or Superman would be power level 10-15 in this system, so keep that in mind when coming up with your concept. Also NO TIME TRAVEL.

Maya’s Campaign Description
The Procyon sector is by no means the largest, trustworthiest, or cleanest destination in the galaxy, but all eyes are on it after the mysterious ancient tech powering the sector’s warp gates accidentally causes an entire military dreadnought to disappear into thin air. The Galactic Hegemony’s grip is suddenly tightening, mystic orders are preparing for judgement day, criminal syndicates are taking delicious advantage of the chaos, and something that’s as powerful as it is weird is awakening in the center of the sector–and it’s about to get a lot weirder when a strange artifact falls into the hands of a rag-tag crew of criminal scum (hint: that’s you!) and thrusts them right into the middle of the hurricane.

Expected Duration: 1 Quarters
Features
- World-Focused
- Character-Driven
- Low Mortality-Rate
- Combat-Light
Hadrian’s Campaign Description
Zeus has once again “misplaced” his wedding ring somewhere on the nine realms of the life tree Yggdrasill. Hera, angry at Zeus, has issued a quest to a group of brave young demigods to track down the wedding ring before the cast iron skillet gang finds it and uses its power to cement their control over the criminal underworld of the nine realms. Will you and your fellow demigods accept the quest and prevent the nine realms from descending into chaos, or will you and your party fall to the dangers that lurk throughout them?
Hadrian’s Notes
As mentioned in the campaign description, party members are demigods so your character should have at least one godly parent. The godly parent can be from any pantheon; it doesn’t matter to me. I don’t have any rules/restrictions on character creation so go wild and have fun. Feel free to tailor your character’s powers and/or weapon to fit with the powers of your character’s godly parent. Also please come up with a backstory for your characters because it will determine certain things in the campaign.

Meg’s Campaign Description
One hundred years ago, magic was declared illegal by the church when a cleric took over as king. All magic-users were hunted down to work in the new factories lining the rivers or went into hiding. Rumors spread talking about groups of magic users hidden in the swamps and a pirate ship that whisks away those who are lost. What will you do when you get shanghaied into the Wonder Damnation?
Meg’s Notes
I love deep character backgrounds so feel free to add in whatever you want. We can also have a session 0 to discuss what we want the characters to be like.

Abran’s Campaign Description
This campaign is a sci-fi adventure where you will be a part of a heist crew aboard a massive traveling space station. Your crew will use the station and its many events as cover for your heists. There will be many opportunities to fly starships, build robots, and fight with laser swords. Just remember to not be seen or draw too much attention to your home base. This campaign is using the What’s Old Is New system, or WOIN. There are no classes and all you need are some D6s.
Abran’s Notes
The first session will mainly be covering character creation and the WOIN rules, so players can come with just a vague idea for a character or three.
